(SOMEWHERE) you should not go!

These are the photographs that i took for "somewhere you should not go". These photos are of the scary witches door that i have explained in a post further down my blog.

I took these photos using a tripod and long exposure. I had to use a tripod so that the camera would not shake whilst i was taking the photo. I used the setting TV for all of the photographs so that i could change the shutter speed easily and it is also a lot easier to use than manual which im still not very good with (but practicing).

 This is a more close up photo of the door and i thought that it looked a little boring as there is not much to see and i had not made full use of the trees in the back ground or the arch above the door.

 This picture includes the trees, the arch and a lot more interest is added to the photo because of this. I like the sky in this picture and the colour of the green on the leaves of the trees. What i did not like about this photo though was the big shadow of a tree trunk in the left and side. What i could do to get rid of that is to just crop the picture or i could use the clone tool on Photoshop although this would take up a considerate amount of time and attention to detail would make it very hard.

 For this photo i used an exposure of 8 seconds and got Laura to stand to the left of the door while i was taking the photograph. I counted down to 4 then shouted to laura to run out of the shot a quickly as possible. This meant that for only 4 seconds of the full 8 was she standing in the cameras view and this gave her a ghost like effect where she is see through and not very visible. She is very hard to see in this photo as i asked her to move a little too quickly i think.

For this photo i used an exposure again of 8 seconds but i got laura to stand in the shot for longer that the last time so that she would be less translucent and easier to see but still appear ghost like if looked at closely. This photo is my favorite because the way laura is standing and looking in at the door makes it seem like she is hesitant of going in, it shows curiosity. This is what i would associate somewhere you should not go with because you would be curious because you want to know what is behind the door that you should not know about a go, but also hesitant because its the unknown and you know your not supposed to be there!
